Crossing Over to PADI

If you have started your scuba diving training with another dive certifying organisation such as BSAC, CMAS, NAUI, SSI or SAA, but would like to crossover to gain the next level certification from PADI, it is no problem.

Most people find that having an internationally recognised dive certification from PADI allows you to dive more easily, anywhere in the world.

BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club) are the UK’s leading dive club and are highly regarded in the scuba diving world. NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) is an American based, world-wide organisation that has been teaching diving since 1959. CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques) is the World Underwater Federation. Compared to PADI – which is geared towards holiday and tropical water diving, CMAS training originates from professional/military diving backgrounds. Organisations such as PADI or SSI tend to bring divers into the water immediately, whereas, CMAS training takes much longer. SSI (Scuba Schools International) is a Retail based organization, intended to ensure the quality of training worldwide. SAA (Sub-Aqua Association) is a UK based diver training organisation.

If you already hold a BSAC, CMAS, NAUI, SSI or SAA diving certification, it’s easy to crossover and take the next level PADI certification. Simply enroll on the next-level diving course offered by PADI, and your dive agency crossover is complete.

Many people find that having an internationally recognised dive certification from PADI allows you to dive more easily, anywhere in the world. PADI is the world’s, highest certifying and most widely recognized, scuba governing and certifying body. PADI maintains an on-line database that allows any PADI dive centre to check your PADI diving credentials online – so, even if you forget to take your diving licence with you on holiday, you will still be able to dive.

A professional PADI diver is the most employable Dive Instructor or Divemaster simply because there are more PADI dive centres around the world than from any other scuba diving agency.

The table below shows you the BSAC, CMAS, SSI, and SAA dive qualifications and next-level PADI course that you can take to complete a crossover to become a PADI diver. Please contact us if you would like further information or assistance.
