The Photo PLUS Course is a 1.5 day introductory course designed to teach you more about underwater photography and editing techniques.
During the Photo PLUS Course you learn to use the PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine and Adjust) method, which takes full advantage of digital technology. The result is good underwater photos faster than you may imagine.
You not only learn how to take good photos, but how to share them with your friends via email or printing, optimizing your work with your computer, storage and more. Take your Underwater Photography a step further and learn about digital editing techniques.
Begin the course the day before you go out on the dive boat. Learn about equipment set-up and basic techniques with your instructor. Then make two dives with a professional photographer at your side giving you expert tips and tricks to help you get the best from an underwater digital camera.
What will I Learn during the Photo PLUS Course?
The Photo PLUS course is an introduction to digital underwater photography centered around today’s point-and-shoot digital cameras.
The course is primarily for those interested in learning the basics of digital underwater photography. Develop the knowledge, skills and practical techniques necessary to obtain excellent photographs with a digital camera, even on your first photo dive.
Learn what equipment you need to take great underwater photographs, how to prepare an U/W photo system, and try out basic U/W photo techniques whilst diving in an environmentally friendly manner.
You’ll also look at file formats, resolution settings, making images lighter or darker, getting good color, photo composition, downloading photographs to a computer and adjusting them to look their best.
Participate in our introduction to Photoshop – still image editing techniques. Gain hands on experience cropping and adjusting colour, contrast, levels, hue and saturation so you can adjust your images to perfection. We’ll happily give you advice on how to take the next steps once you’ve completed the course.

Who can participate in the Photo PLUS Course?
If you’re aged 10+ and have already completed the PADI Open Water Course (or equivalent), in general good health and fitness, and are not suffering from a cold or ear infection, you should be eligible to become a certified PADI Underwater Digital Photographer. Courses start every day, at a time to suit you. You can book now, or come in to see see us while you’re on holiday in Ko Lanta. We offer free transfers to and from your resort in Ko Lanta for any of our dive courses or daily dive trips.
