During the PADI Open Water Course training sessions, you’ll gain the skills, experience and knowledge to make your diving safe and fun, as well as a licence to dive anywhere in the world, for the rest of your life. The PADI Open Water Course is designed to make learning easy as well as fun.
The PADI Open Water Course teaches you everything you need to know about diving step by step and gives you plenty of time to practice in the pool before trying diving in the sea.

What will I Learn in the PADI Open Water Course?
You’ll gain the essential skills, experience and knowledge to make your diving safe and fun, as well as a licence to dive anywhere in the world, for the rest of your life.
The 3-4 day PADI Open Water Course is designed for the complete beginner to learn the fundamental skills of scuba diving in order to become a fully certified diver. Your course includes academic training, self-study sessions, pool training sessions and 4 open water dives from our comfortable and friendly dive boats.
You’ll learn how to assemble and take care of your equipment, use the Recreational Dive Planner to plan your dives within accepted safety limits, avoid and deal with potentially difficult situations and complete skills both in the swimming pool and in open water.
Dives 1 & 2 are to a maximum depth of 12 meters. Dives 3 & 4 are to a maximum depth of 18 metres. You will be under the direct supervision of a PADI Instructor at all times.
Who can participate?
If you’re aged 10+, in general good health and fitness, and are not suffering from a cold or ear infection, you should be eligible to enrol on the PADI Open Water Course.

How often do you run courses?
Courses start every day, at around 9.00am. You can book now, or come in to see see us while you’re on holiday in Ko Lanta. We offer free transfers to and from your resort in Ko Lanta for any of our dive courses or daily dive trips.
What languages do you teach in?
We run PADI Open Water Diver courses in English, German, Swedish, Danish, French & Thai. We run semi-supported courses in Norwegian, Finnish, Spanish & Dutch. Please let us know if you require course materials in another language and we will order them for you.
How much does it cost?
The price is 15,900 THB. At Scubafish, all our scuba certification courses include manuals and free scuba diving equipment rental. When you sign up for the PADI Open Water Course program you’ll receive the PADI Open Water Diver Manual, PADI Recreational Dive Planning Tables, log book and waterproof zip bag. In addition, we teach all of our diver level courses in small groups to ensure that you receive the attention that you deserve. All our courses are taught to PADI Standards and prices include PADI certification fees.

| PADI Referral Open Water Course, - Age 10+, 2 days If you’ve already completed the knowledge development and confined water training sections of the PADI Open Water Course, take a quick refresher in the pool before going out on the dive boats to make your 4 open water dives. You need to bring a copy of your Student Record file, or a referral form. Your Instructor needs to sign you off on all the parts you’ve completed already. Then your PADI Instructor here, can just continue where you’ve left off. |
