and dive into an exciting world of underwater adventure.
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving Course is a 1-2 day course that will allow you to try scuba diving safely, with minimal training, under the direct supervision of a PADI Instructor.
It’s easier than you think to participate in a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Program with Scubafish in Ko Lanta, Thailand.
You’ll find out about Scuba Diving in three simple steps.
A PADI Instructor conducts a brief orientation and video session, followed by your first underwater experience in either a swimming pool or shallow water where you’ll learn the basic skills of breathing under water. You’ll continue under the careful supervision of your experienced PADI instructor, to make two actual Scuba Dives in shallow water where you safely experience the same sense of wonder and excitement shared every day by Scuba Divers throughout the world.
What will I Learn in the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Course?
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving course is designed to encourage you to explore the underwater world and try scuba diving in a safe and relaxed environment. After watching a 30 min video, you’ll learn some basic skills in Baan Laanta’s swimming pool and have time to get comfortable with the equipment. Once you’re happy in the pool, we’ll take you for a day out on the dive boat to complete two open water dives. You’ll dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres on each dive and be accompanied by a PADI Instructor at all times.
The skills you complete in the pool, and one of your open water dives may be credited toward the PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver certification.
Who can participate?
If you’re aged 10+, in general good health and fitness, and are not suffering from a cold or ear infection, you should be eligible to try scuba diving.

How often do you run courses?
Courses start every day, at a time that is convenient to you. You can book now, or come in to see see us while you’re on holiday in Ko Lanta. We offer free transfers to and from your resort in Ko Lanta for any of our dive courses or daily dive trips.
What languages do you teach in?
We run courses in English, German, Swedish, Danish, French & Thai. We run semi-supported courses in Norwegian, Finnish, Spanish & Dutch. Please let us know if you require course materials in another language and we will order them for you.
How much does it cost?
Full Course (Pool & Boat): 5,500 THB
Short Course (Boat Only): 5,200 THB (If you have completed a Discover Scuba Diving Course within the last 12 months, and can show us your certificate, you can go straight to the boat.)

How many people are in each group?
We keep group sizes small to ensure you receive the attention you deserve and so that you gain full benefit from your tuition (maximum 4 students per Instructor). This also minimises negative impact on the reefs. Our emphasis is on safety, fun and personal service within a relaxed and stress-free environment. All our courses are taught to PADI Standards.
