About Scubafish

Scubafish in owned and personally run by English couple, Darrel & Saffron.

After meeting in Ko Phi Phi in 2002, they formed LIQUID LENSE, an Underwater Videography & Photography company, and quickly found that this was an area that people wanted to learn more about.

They moved to Ko Lanta in February 2004 to set up NARIMA DIVING – a PADI Dive Centre based in the Narima Bungalow Resort. Over the next 3 years, their customer base grew, and they found thay had a special touch helping people overcome personal fear of the sea and learn to dive.

“There are many people who would like to learn to dive, who do not believe thay can … with a little encouragement, lots of time and personal attention and plenty of laughter, we’ve found that there are very few people who do not find learning to dive a personally rewarding and hugely satisfying experience. When someone overcomes a personal fear and rises to a new challenge it can be an emotional experience all round!”

Wanting to keep their personal approach, but finding they were fast outgrowing Narima, they have set up a second PADI dive centre – Scubafish. Scubafish is a PADI 5 Star, Gold Palm, IDC Dive Centre.

Running a small and personal dive centre, that constantly exceeds its customers expectations requires a surprisingly large range of skills. With a background in Aeronautical Engineering, UK TV Production, Classical violin training and several years experience diving the Andaman Sea, their range of skills bring a unique slant to scuba diving in Thailand.

Darrel & Saffron are now researching ways to conserve Thailands reefs and preserve them for future generations to enjoy.
There are now two Marine Biologists on the Scubafish Team, and there will soon be a dedicated conservation learning centre in place, with ongoing studies that monitor the reefs in this area.
